Our Story

Who knew that the love of your life could be waiting in a covid-era Zoom French class! Josephine and Niels met at the University of Maryland in French 201. Though it took over a year for them to make it official, they have been inseparable ever since.

Niels and Josephine both graduated from the University of Maryland with the same undergraduate and master's degrees, and now live together in Arlington, VA with their dog Murphy. Niels and Josephine absolutely love travelling, cooking, and trying new restaurants together.

While travelling in August 2026, Niels proposed in the historic old town of Strasbourg, France — a total surprise for Josephine! They look forward to this next chapter together... <3

The nearest airport is Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall (BWI), about a 35-minute drive from downtown Annapolis. Ronald Reagan Washington National (DCA) is roughly an hour away pending traffic, and Washington Dulles International (IAD) is about an hour and 20 minutes.

Josephine and Niels live in a small one-bedroom apartment, so they're not wishing for material gifts. As avid travelers, their only request would be a contribution to their honeymoon travel fund!
